“Every adversity every failure and every heartache carries with it the seed of an equivalent or a greater benefit. “ – Napoleon hill
We have all been there at one time or another. A moment when it seemed like that proposal was yours but it fell through. Or that pitch you completed made you think you were certain it was a winner.
Failure happens. It happens to all of us.
But did you know that failure can expose a greater win?
We have all experienced failure or heartache. Whether it was business related or personal, I am certain there was a greater benefit waiting in the winds that you either capitalized on.
Or maybe you let it pass you by?
That happens as well. You are so caught up in the anguish that you lose perspective. Something was sitting there at the corner of your eye but you didn’t see it because that failure got the best of you.
I failed hard in the fall of last year.
There I was lavishing my summer successes. Being so bloody busy that I had forgotten to keep the momentum going. I paid for that mistake dearly. All through winter I went penniless. No new revenue. Nothing coming in. My stupidity in NOT marketing my company caused me a lot of unwanted stress.
Now I could have blamed the ‘economic downturn’. Or I could have blamed others. Or better yet I could have sulked and complained to anyone who wanted to listen. But I didn’t. I powered through. I stayed positive and kept grinding it out.
During this time, I saw something happen that never happened before. Not just one greater benefit presented itself…many did.
What were these greater benefits?
Collaborators and bigger contracts presented themselves. Budgeting personal finances exposed itself. A greater sense of money management came to light. Effective marketing strategies came to light. It strengthened my marriage. I became more self-aware. I exposed hidden stress triggers I never saw before. I found out there was a hidden fear lurking inside of me I never knew was there. I grew and have become mentally stronger.
Those months of no money coming in are my next steps to success. No joke.
You have a choice when dealing with failure.
You can choose to let it defeat you or you can choose to let it make you stronger and more successful. You have to keep your eyes open, your mind positive, keep working hard and believe in your heart things will be bigger and better.

You have a choice! Which choice will you make the next time failure comes your way?
